I purchased a Hisense TV on July 29, 2024 that has Chromecast built-in. When I try to casting the screen from my HP laptop, I get a blank/black screen with audio. My laptop is only a few months old as well. I can cast tabs without trouble. I also can cast the screen from an older chromecast dongle without difficulties (plugged into the same TV), but it overheats so I would prefer not to use it.
I have verified I am on the same network with the laptop and TV. The TV is up to date. I uninstalled the Android System Webview updates and the Chromecast built-in updates (deleted the built-in's data and cache) and reinstalled them. I have restarted my modem and router. I have restarted the TV. I restarted the laptop. I verified there are no settings (like a firewall, etc.) that are interfering.
I am running out of ideas. Anything else I can try?
