CCwGTV 4K update to Android 14 broke TV stream playback

My CCwGTV 4K received the latest update UTTC.241218.004, now I have Android 14.

This update broke playback of direct live TV stream in all the apps. It looks that all the h.264 FullHD streams are affected. The playback is like slow motion with judder and audio out of sync. All these apps worked perfectly fine before the update. Many users report the same (Reddit). 

Source is DVB-C, TS stream from my cable TV provider.

Is this a known problem from Google's side? All the devices still on Android 12 are perfect.

Thank you for your patience with this. The fix for this issue is now rolling out (build UTTC.250917.004). While the update will reach all users automatically over the next several weeks, you can manually download the latest update by following these instructions.

I have the CCWGTV 4K, have taken the latest update and confirm that Freesat interlaced streams still stutter. An example is BBC2 HD showing the Women's CL broadcasting at 1080i 25fps interlaced playing through Kodi.

I have a Windows PC running next to it and it works without issue also running Kodi.

@Artan I see over on reddit that AT14 is now available for the Thomson Streaming Box Plus 270. Is it available to you? Maybe you won't risk updating in case it breaks deinterlacing?

My CCWGTV HD is not updating, still saying the UTTC.241218.008.H1 is the latest update available. I've already tried a factory reset. Someone else with the same problem?

After updating the Google TV Streaming Box Plus 270 (4K) i only can change the advantaged audio settings (the Onn box)when my Box is in English. Im Dutch or German it doesnot work and goes back to the main menu

Still broken, stay away from android 14 update. Prior to android 14 on android 12 all worked fine then this crap version of android 14 has been release that broke so many things and it is so slow compared ro android 12.

 

Mediacodec/mediaextract is full of bugs in android 14

Just to add an update on my experience, I experimented disabling time shifting in the Kodi addon I use for live TV and now I don't experience any issues. In the UK in recent months a lot of channels have moved from 720i to 1080i so my theory is that CCWGTV is struggling to write the increased amount of data to the storage causing the juddering.

For now the issue seems to have mainly disappeared. Hopefully this might help someone else find a resolution.
