CEC Remote Issue.

I have CEC on with my TV and Streamer.  It worked perfectly fine with my old CcwGTV but just plugged the streamer 4k in, same hdmi slot and the remote will work perfectly fine when turning the tv off (it turns the tv off, and the receiver) but then the remote won't work for turning the tv back on, it just does nothing.

Any ideas?

Hi bullyybeef,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to know that the remote CEC mode is not working with your Google TV Streamer. I understand that it worked perfectly fine with your Chromecast with Google TV, but when you connected your new Google TV Streamer to the same HDMI port, the remote worked perfectly fine when turning the TV off, but then the remote won’t work for turning the TV back on. No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • Could you please double-check the TV settings to see if the “HDMI-CEC” option is turned on?
  • Could you please ensure in the Google TV Streamer settings that the CEC option is enabled?
  • Have you tried to restart your Google TV Streamer?
  • Have you tried to connect the Google TV Streamer to a different HDMI port?
  • What is the make and model of your TV set?

In the meantime, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Unplug your TV set and wait for 10 minutes, and plug it back in.

If the issue persists, you can try with the following instructions:

  1. To start setup, turn on Chromecast, then at the top right of the TV screen, select profile, then “Settings.”
  2. If you haven’t added a device yet, you’ll need to add one before they can continue.
    • Select “Remotes and Accessories,” then under “Chromecast remote setup,” select” Set up remote buttons,” then “Add a device.”
    • Select the device type, then select the device brand.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Virma
