I’m sorry to hear that your new Google Chromecast with Google TV is showing a green screen when you plug it into your Sharp TV. I understand that you want to watch the YouTube channel, but it only streams sound and the green screen. No worries, help is here.

Before I start providing assistance, I have a few questions for you:

  • Are you getting the green screen when you stream other apps?
  • How long did the Chromecast with Google TV work properly before this issue occurred?
  • Have you tried using the streaming device on a different TV? Does it show the same behavior?

In the meantime, I recommend you follow the next instructions:

  1. Go to the Chromecast with Google TV on your TV screen.
  2. Select Settings, then scroll down.
  3. Select the option “Show advanced settings” and uncheck the box that reads "Use hardware acceleration when available."

If the issue persists, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Unplug, then re-plug the Chromecast with Google TV into the HDMI port, making sure the connector is plugged all the way in.
  2. If the previous step doesn't help, try plugging the Chromecast with Google TV into other HDMI ports on your TV.
