Chromecast with Google TV (4K, Snow) keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to my Wi-Fi network

My Chromecast with Google TV (4K, Snow) keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to my Wi-Fi network.

I've called Google Support and walked through all troubleshooting steps.

I've:

- factory reset the device multiple times.

- factory reset my network and the device.

- tried with IPV6 on my network turned ON and I've also turned it off.

- tried a 2.4ghz network and a 5ghz network.

The only time the device maintains a stable connection is if it's connected to my mobile hotspot.

While on the mobile hotspot, I've check if there's an update. There are no updates available.

I am also having the same issue with a Chromecast with Google TV (HD, Snow)

Did a bad software update go out to these devices?

If your Chromecast with Google TV (4K, Snow) keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to Wi-Fi, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart Your Router & Chromecast – A simple reboot can often resolve connectivity issues.
  2. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength – Ensure your Chromecast is within range of your router, or try switching to a 5GHz network for a more stable connection.
  3. Update Firmware – Make sure your Chromecast and router firmware are up to date.
  4. Forget & Reconnect to Wi-Fi – Go to Settings > Network & Internet and reconnect to your Wi-Fi.
  5. Reduce Interference – Keep Chromecast away from other electronic devices that may cause signal disruption.
  6. Use an Ethernet Adapter – A wired connection can improve stability.

If the issue persists, consider resetting Chromecast to factory settings and setting it up again. However, You can use Slideshare Downloader to resolve the issue.

I appreciate the response however I've tried all points and the issue remains for both versions of the Chromecast with Google TV that I have.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out.

@slidesdownloadr, thanks for the steps provided.

@dheinzelman, I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties connecting your Chromecast with Google TV to your network. I understand it can be frustrating when your device isn't working as expected. Don't worry, let's work together to fix this.

Since you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, which I appreciate, I won't ask you to repeat them. Could you please provide your case ID? This will allow me to access your support history and check the status of your case more efficiently.

Once you provide the case ID, please let me know, and I'll be happy to look into this for you.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Sorry, Case ID? Where would I find this?

Hi @dheinzelman,

Thanks for your reply.

Don't worry, if you don't have your case ID, I've already located it. As your Chromecast can be connected to a hotspot, a good next step would be contacting your internet service provider to check if there isn't any problem on their end.

Please keep me updated on how it goes.

Regards,
Jonathan
