Hi ired,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device do you have connected to your TV? What is this specific Android device that you’re using? If this is an Android computer (Chrome OS), were you trying to cast using the Google Chrome browser by clicking on the three dots located on the top right of the browser? What is the website that you were trying to cast using the Chrome browser? If it’s a smartphone or tablet Android device, were you able to cast any cast-enabled app (Netflix, YouTube, etc.)? What steps have you taken?
The Chrome browser app on smartphones and tablets is not a cast-enabled app. Some websites may have the cast icon, but it may not be synchronized with Chromecast devices. It’s best to use the app version of the websites that you want to watch, that is, if it has a cast-enabled app version.
Kindly share with us more details so we can understand more about this. We look forward to your response.
Thanks,
Kimy

Hi Kimy,
Thanks for the reply.
I have the chromecast with google TV (1st gen - 4K).
I dont try to cast from a desktop browser but from an android device (xiaomi 12).
If I try to cast from the youtube or netflix app it works fine.
I cannot cast videos from the chrome browser in my phone.
I didn't know that Chrome browser app on smartphones and tablets is not a cast-enabled app and this could be the answer to my problem but it used to work and now its not...
Also I could not cast to my nest hub 2...

Hello ired,
Thanks for the reply. The Chrome browser app is not a cast-enabled app, but there are websites that have innate casting features. Chances are, the casting feature may not be optimized in general (Chromecast, Miracast, Anycast, etc.), which may not fully load during attempts. The websites themselves update such features for overall rendering.
Let us know if you still have questions.
Cheers,
Kimy
