Cannot connect to AudioEngine HD6 speakers via Bluetooth

First things first: I think I've done all the obvious troubleshooting steps. For instance, I can confirm that both my desktop and iPhone can connect via Bluetooth to the HD6 speakers with no worries. The sound is good and reliable. Additionally, I can connect Bluetooth devices such as my headphones to Chromecast with no worries. The problem is that I cannot for the life of me figure out why the HD6 speakers will not connect to my TV. I've tried RCA out, too, but that seems to be a dead end. My TV annoyingly does not have optical out. Initially it detected them but failed to pair, but now it won't detect it at all.

I've tried doing a factory reset and ensure it's in pairing mode and not connected to any other devices. Please help me; this is driving me insane.

Hi ska234,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues when establishing a connection between your third party speakers and a Chromecast or TV device via Bluetooth. Let's work through some potential solutions.

Before we get started with advanced troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  • What is the model of your Chromecast device?
  • Does this situation occur with other Bluetooth devices?
  • Does it show any error messages when this happens?

I understand that you have followed basic troubleshooting steps. Please verify if you are missing any of these options:

  • Check Bluetooth Settings: Ensure Bluetooth on both your Chromecast and the speaker is enabled and properly paired. Some devices might have additional settings related to audio quality or latency, which you can explore within their respective apps.
  • Update Software: Make sure you're running the latest software versions on both your Chromecast and the Bluetooth speaker. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements for Bluetooth connectivity.
  • Use the Google Home App: You can manage some Chromecast settings, including Bluetooth connections, through the Google Home app.

If you want to connect the devices to your TV directly, contacting the manufacturer’s support is recommended. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your TV model or speakers and any error codes you might be encountering.

In case it helps, you can also follow these good articles to Connect Bluetooth devices to Chromecast with Google TV (depending on your device model) or Troubleshoot Chromecast connection.

Please keep me posted.

Not 100% sure the model, but it outputs in 4K. Probably one of the later ones.

Bluetooth is enabled on both devices per original post. Software is up to date, and I’ve tried a factor reset twice. Other Bluetooth speakers work.

Btw, I can’t seem to unforget forgotten devices. Very frustrating.
