Cannot remove bollywood recommendations

Hi,

I see others have had the same problem and I can see many reddit and support threads about this mostly from users in NZ.

We cannot remove Zee5 from our Chromecast recommendations. 90% of recommendations are Zee5. Here's what people have tried that has not worked:

- removing zee5 from our services list

- making sure zee5 is not installed

- power cycling

- logging out and in again from our google account

- factory resetting

- making new google accounts

- contacting google support. The only conversation I can find record of suggests that because this is an APAC device we're stuck with Zee5 bloatware. That seems strange to me as google don't generally go for bloatware. It's also strange because most of APAC is not India.

The only workaround is to switch to apps only mode. I've done that but it's not a fix.

And on and on. Mostly this is from users in New Zealand. 

It appears this is either a bug or bloatware. It seems the people providing support have no power to escalate bug reports and we're just stuck with a faulty device.

Please also note:
- I have never watched or looked up anything Indian, so this is not an activity based problem

- The recommendations that show in the Google TV app on my phone are exactly the same *except* for Zee5. There are no Zee5 recommendations on any device other than the Chromecast.

Yes i have the exact problem and in NZ, so frustrating that I'm either going back to android tv or try and load a customer launcher. We do have a lot if indians in nz but this is off the chart that we can't turn this off.
