Hi MilliPink,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. To cover all the bases, could you tell us the make and model of your mobile phone? What's the version of your Google Home app? Please forget and reconnect your phone to the same network where the Chromecast is connected to. Rebooting your phone and Wi-Fi router might also help.

Jennifer

Galaxy A53 phone and 2.63 1.12 home version. I've done all of the above resets with the same issues.

Hello there,
Thanks for getting back to us. Could you also try to use a different mobile phone and test? Also, if you're casting your phone screen to your TV, please check the information here and let me know how it goes.
Best,
Jennifer

Hi there,
I understand if you feel that way. Have you tried the suggested step above and have you had a chance checking the support article I've shared? Could you also try to perform another factory reset on your Chromecast Ultra, then connect it to a mobile hotspot so we can isolate the issue?
Regards,
Jennifer

Hey there MilliPink,
No problem at all! Just out of curiosity, is it only your Galaxy A53 phone that cannot cast to your Chromecast? If so, go ahead and follow these instructions to see if they allow you to connect:
Important: For devices with Android 11 or 12
When Use network information is off in their Android settings, Google Nest and Home speakers or displays (and Chromecast) might not appear on the list of available Cast devices.
To discover Cast-enabled devices, open your mobile device's Settings enable Use network information
Continue.
Important: The Microphone permission in the Google Play Services app needs to be turned on to successfully use the Cast screen or audio feature with Chromecast. If you don't have this permission turned on, the Cast screen session immediately disconnects after it attempts to connect.
To turn on Microphone permissions:
Let me know if you have any questions!

Jeran
