Chromecast 2nd Gen still no audio after several resets and troubleshooting

After several attempts of restarting the chromecast and also the home app. Still audio is not working.

You said restarting the Chromecast, I would try a factory reset (hold the button the device until the factory reset begins), set it up from scratch and see if that works.   If it does not , trying on a different television would be a good route.  Also be sure that your setup is functioning , ie are you expecting sound from the tv , or from a sound bar / other audio system.
