Hello,
On PC it is possible to set 4K resolution in Youtube, even if the monitor is Full HD. The video is then scaled down to a lower Full HD resolution and thus a little sharper. A subtle difference.
Is it the same on Chromecast 4.0 4K? I.e. if I hook it up to a Full HD TV, can I force 4K in Youtube?
Maybe I don't need the Chromecast 4K, just the Chromecast 4.0 is enough and I will still have the ability to force a 4K stream in Youtube?

Hey there Elger,
I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! It would be the same with any Chromecast you use. For example, if you cast from your phone to a Chromecast with Google TV (HD), it will use the highest resolution available, in this case, 1080p. If you were to manually try to cast 4K, it would scale the video down from 4K to 1080p.
I hope that helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran
