I have multiple Chromecast 4k devices in my house. On all of them, the Max app (HBO) has stopped loading. There is an error that comes up saying that Something went Wrong.
This started happening 2 days ago.
If I use the Max app directly on the smart TV it connects just fine. Only the Max app through the Chromecast connected to the TV doesn't work.
Because this is occurring on all my Chromecast 4k devices, this is leading me to a problem with the Max app on the Chromecast devices.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yes, I am experiencing the same thing. Chromecast with Google TV and the Max app consistently says "something went wrong. Sorry, we're having trouble communicating with the service." I just noticed this today.

I just started experiencing the exact same thing with Android TV (NVIDIA Shield) and nothing I’ve tried has fixed it.

Same here, noticed it earlier today on my CCWGTV. I wonder if HBO broke their app somehow for Google TV specifically.

I was dealing with this too. Uninstalling and doing a reinstall fixed the issue for me. Hope this helps you!

No changes were made on my part. This morning it is now working.
it looks like this was fixed overnight as it was still broken last night.
I hope all of you that posted are also seeing this now resolved.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Max app last night as Fight623 suggested and that worked for me as well, but glad to hear the app seems to have been fixed last night!

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. If all other apps are working and the issue is isolated to just one app, then it’s best to troubleshoot the apps by clearing the cache and data. Check if there’s an update or reinstall the affected app. Also, ensure that your Chromecast device is up-to-date, or you can do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset and setting it up from scratch to remove any corrupted files or data. Thanks, Kimy. This was an issue on HBO’s side and it appears they’ve resolved it. No action required on my part and it’s now working.
