Hi Community,
I just read that with the current Chromecast with Google TV (HD) it should be possible to output the sound to a Google Nest. Or am I wrong?
I have a chromecast on my computer monitor without any speakers and I wanted to hear the sound of this chromecast on my Nest (Hub) right beside my monitor. Is this possible or not? can't find any setting in the chromecast setting, as well not in the Google Home App...
can't find any instruction for that...
Please help! Thanks!

In addition, when playing video or audio on Chromecast and going into the Home app, clicking on Media (on German Medien, so I think, Media should be the right translation) there is no possibility to "transfer" the audio to another device. For example when playing media on the Nest Hub, then I got some choices to transfer the audio to.

Hi hopsing.
Thanks for reaching out. You can move music, podcasts, radio and YouTube videos currently streaming from your Google Nest or Home speaker or display, or Chromecast device to another Nest speaker, speaker group, display, or Chromecast-connected device however, please take note that we can't separate the video and audio.
You can check this support website article to learn more about moving media from one cast device to another.
Regards,
Jennifer

Hello there,
Thanks for sharing a screenshot of the issue. To confirm, when you moved the media from the Nest Hub using the Google Home app, is the video not showing up on your TV?
Regards,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Sure, this direction works, as described.
Move from Nest Hub to Chromecast works, only vice versa (from Chromecast to Nest) does not.
cheers

Hi hopsing,
Got it. Could you please reboot your devices and try again? If the issue persists, please perform a factory reset on your devices.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
tried it already, reboot as a well as factory reset...
nothing results in success...

I have also struggled with this same issue. I am watching various shows on my Chromecast HD (Netflix, Britbox, Paramount+, etc). I want to cast the audio to some of my Google and Nest Minis.
I have tried whatever self help I could Google but to no avail. I can start music on a speaker then select other speakers and my Chromecast and all will play.
I just want to be able listen to my shows if I go to a different room.
I shall follow this thread to see what resolution is presented.
Thanks
Mark

Hiya hopsing,
Goodness, this has been quite the issue. It looks like you may have stumbled upon a bug, and the feedback you've submitted should help the Chromecast Engineering team look into this. In the meantime, did you want me to leave this thread open for any updates?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hi,
You are welcome to decide.
Maybe a good tip would come from the community, or others have similar problems and want to comment.
But it's up to you .😉
If the problem is solved anytime, I let it know in any case 😉
