Chromecast Continue watching issue

  • I have recently experienced an issue on my continue watching list on the Google Chromecast home screen. A number of shows have popped into the list that I have never watched and from an app (9now) that I currently don't have installed. Can anyone help me understand how this is even possible? TIA.

Hi GabbyA77,

 

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. 9Now is a media app with lots of movies and shows similar to Netflix, Prime Video, etc. and is based in Australia. If you’re not the only user of your Chromecast device, chances are that it was installed without your knowledge. You can uninstall the app, then go to Settings > Accounts and Sign In > Content Preference to apply the changes that you want. You can also try a factory reset if you want a full clean-up. Hi Kimy

Whilst I appreciate your response to my question, it seems that you didn't really read my question, as in my question I stated that I don't have the 9now app installed! In fact I recently uninstalled it. I am also the only user of my Chromecast. Unless someone has found a way from outside my house to use it, which would seem unlikely? 

Meanwhile, I will try the factory reset. 👍🤞
