Chromecast Remote select button unresponsive/ not working

Hello

Over the last few months the select button on my Chromecast Remote has started to not work. Sometimes I have to press really hard, several times or even hold it just for it to register once. But most of the time it doesn't work at all. 

Every other button works perfectly and as it is the select button that isn't working it can get very frustrating as the entire Chromecast becomes un-useable.

I've tried several different options I've found including but not limited to factory resetting the Remote, resetting the Chromecast, removing and replacing the batteries etc

As its only 1 button that's not working it seems like more of a hardware issue not a connectivity one.

Any help would be appreciated as I just want it to work.

That's obviously a hardware issue. You'll need to buy a new remote , or get it replaced under warranty if that's an option. And pair the new remote with your Chromecast.
