Chromecast audio

Hello,

I have a strange audio issue. The max volume on the Chromecast sounds terrible. Everything is very loud and there is very little separation between background music and voice.

If I turn the volume down on the Chromecast and up on the amp it's connected to through the TV the sound is much clearer and everything is at the right levels.

Does anyone have any advice for this problem. I'd really like to control the amp through the Chromecast remote but if I do, the Chromecast defaults to the highest volume and everything sounds terrible even at lower volumes through the amp.

Hi @naddot,

Thanks for posting in the community! I'm sorry to hear you're having inconveniences with the sound on your Chromecast. I'd be happy to help!

To better assist you, I'd like to ask the following:

  • Do you have a Chromecast with Google TV or Chromecast audio?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far?
  • Has the Chromecast worked properly before experiencing this situation?
  • What is the manufacturer of your amplifier and your TV?

In the meantime, I'd suggest rebooting your Chromecast to refresh the connection. For reference, you can check out the following article: Reboot your Chromecast. Also, if applicable, check for any updates of your Chromecast in the Google Home app.

Additionally, in case you have a Chromecast with Google TV HD or Chromecast with Google TV (4K), you can customize the sound format and adjust your advanced sound settings by following the steps in the next article: Advanced sound settings for Chromecast with Google TV.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
