Hi!
After I did the set up, the following used to happen:
- when the tv was off, I could press the circle button on the remote to turn the tv on
- after 15 or so idle minutes, the chromecast would turn the tv off automatically
- in the home app, I could press the device’s button that’s listed under its room and turn it off
The other day, things went haywire, I don’t really remembered what I did - I didn’t change any settings on purpose, but I think I started the tv with the normal tv remote or something, and now
- when the tv is off and I press the circle button, nothing happens
- after 15 minutes, the chromecast screen turns black, but the tv is still on.
- using the home app device button does only turn of the chromecast and not the tv
Casting still works as it should.
I can add that the tv is an ancient Samsung with one (1) HDMI.
Any idea how I can get my devices back to how they were before?

Hi Eva_,
Thanks for reaching out. Could you please go to the Chromecast with Google TV settings and check the Energy saver option? See the steps below:
After checking this setting and the issue still persists, reboot your Chromecast and plug it into a different HDMI port on your TV.
Best,
Jennifer
