Hi,
Around once every 30 minutes, my Chromecast drops its connection to my TV. The image goes black and audio cuts off. It always comes back in a couple of seconds, during which the stream has continued to play, meaning the Chromecast itself doesn't actually restart and keeps running fine. It always does this, doesn't matter if it's playing Netflix, YouTube, or simply idle-ing on the homescreen.
In addition, after the Chomecast has been running for a while (usually one or two weeks or so), this problem suddenly increases its frequency tenfold, and it will keep doing this cycle every few seconds, essentially making it unusable until I reboot it. This behavior only occurs right after I turn on the TV, so this does not happen at random while watching something (fortunately), but it still feels related since the symptoms are a match.
I have already tried a factory reset to no avail. It is plugged in using its original power adapter. It doesn't feel particularly hot when this happens, so it doesn't seem like an overheating issue. Switching HDMI ports also did not do the trick.
Any ideas what could be the problem here? It feels like a hardware issue to be honest, it has always done this since I got it, but it's hard to say with such a vague problem to be fair (no errors or something like that).
Thanks!
Vincent
