I am beyond frustrated. I have a Chromecast with Google TV that kept switching my Onkyo receiver on every time I pressed the home button. This started happening about a month ago. I DO NOT want to turn off the CEC as it worked fine for 5 years and I enjoy that function. Here is what I did to troubleshoot.... I tried updating the firmware on the TV, chromecast and receiver. I moved the dongle from the back of my Onkyo to my LG OLED. This did not fix the problem. I purchased a new Google Streamer, hooked it up to the TV and the Onkyo.... didn't fix it. Last but not least, I got a new Marantz receiver and updated all the HDMI cables to 2.2.
Guess what? Same frickin problem. NO matter what I do, the Chromecast turns on m Marantz every time I press the home button. The issue must be in the Google software.
Please advise or update the firmware. I'm ready to ditch the platform,
