On our office LAN we have a large screen Vizio TV. We have several laptops and desktops that can successfully Chromecast from Google Chrome on the office LAN. Since turning on Sonicwall DPI-SSL the Chromecast does not work. The TV boots up and then presents the error: "SmartCast Home Not Available Error Code 2902_1".
In testing, I turned off DPI-SSL and rebooted the TV. On the TV, the Smartcast page displays normally and Chromecast from Google Chrome works perfectly.
What might be being blocked when DPI-SSL is turned on? Ideally, we'd have the protection of DPI-SSL and have the ability to use Chromecast from Google Chrome on the office LAN. Any help that you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
DLP

Hey there DLP,
Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! Just to double-check, are you using a Google Chromecast Dongle, or are you using a Vizio with SmartCast built-in? It looks like that error you gave, "SmartCast Home Not Available Error Code 2902_1", is a Vizio specific error. In this situation, I would reach out to Vizio Support to see what is causing the error. I imagine there is some kind of communication error with the DPI-SSL, sort of like how a VPN block connections for a normal Chromecast.
I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for us, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran
