Ejemplo; 15/03 y luego espere mientras chromecast descarga automaticamente lá actualizacion.

Issue is fixed. Please keep your TV on after connecting to your Chromcast. Google will push the update and system will automatically update and your Chromcast will start working after few restarts.
Thank you Google!

What if we did factory reset as part of troubleshooting and i did the same and i face error, we couldn't authenticate your chrome device, could you suggest if you come across this problem

Change the date on your phone to before 8th of March, then configure the chromecast in Google Home app. As soon as it can connect to your WiFi it will update itself and start working again, and then you can change back the date on your phone

For those out there like me that are tech illiterate….thnk u!

I am having same exact problem! Please post if you find a solution. My chrome cast device, 2nd generation type, is "no longer found or recognized" which it WAS able to do, before March 9th. THX.

Leave your unit power up on your local Wi-fi network. It takes time for the google server to update the device.

@Chromecast2, @google

I did a factory reset on the Chromecast when the problem started on March 9th and the solution that made it work again was in two steps:
The first step was to remove the Chromecast link from Google Home. Then, I reset the Chromecast again, holding the mini button on the device for about 10 seconds. After that, I changed the date on my smartphone to March 8th, 2025 (one day before the bug). Soon after, I reinstalled Google Home and configured the Chromecast, linking it to the device. After all that, I tried to mirror the phone's screen and confirmed that the Chromecast returned to the same situation right after the bug and before I had reset the device.
The second step, after the configuration was successful, I reset my smartphone to the current date and unplugged the Chromecast from the socket for 10 seconds. I plugged it back in and the Chromecast was automatically updated via the internet and then the mirroring with the smartphone started working again. I hope this helps!

Intenté hacerlo con el iPhone y no pude

Thanks for this!
It worked for me doing this:
- I changed my phone date
- I factory reset the device
- i added the tv on google home via my phone
- I turned off wifi etc cand changed the date back to correct date
- i was then able to cast
Fingers crossed this remains stable!

Hi all, I saw a comment a few days ago about what to do if you factory reset your Chromecast before the update rolled out. I couldn't find it so I thought I would make this post to help others who factory reset their device, it worked for me so hopefully it will work for you.
1 - turn off the automatic date/time on your phone and change the date to March 1st.
2 - plug in Chromecast and wait for the prompt to open the Google Home app.
3 - open Home app and start the setup of the Chromecast.
4 - the Chromecast should connect and start a couple of updates. I had an error on the app but left the Chromecast to update fully on the TV and reopened the app afterwards.
5 - turn on automatic time/date settings. My first cast with Disney+ threw up an error but worked the second try around.
Hope this post helps some 🙂

Hello thank you for the information I didn't realize that my phone was effecting one of my friends Chromecast how does that effect his Chromecast that way

Thank you for sharing your trip! Now my Chromecast is working again 🥳
Google Home complaint about the update being to slow, but just be patient. Don't touch anything. It worked like a charm

Worked for me, thanks!!

What a great suggestion. I receives the message that updates would take very long and quit. But even without updates this trick enabled me to reinstall Home and make my Chromecast work again after a factory reset. Many thanks
