Chromecast not turning on

Garbagepizza

So I've had this Chromecast for a while and not had any problems but recently when i turn on the power button it just goes to a black screen. I googled ever solution and did them all. I unplugged it and plugged it back in which worked....but i would have to do that each time i want to turn the TV on. I factory reset it and all the other tricks. I'm thinking that maybe it's because my dog ate the remote and it's a new remote? But i paired it with the Chromecast so it should work. Right now, since i don't want to get up to unplug the tv every time, i discovered that if i turn the TV on and off again from the black screen a few times eventually the light on my Vizio tv flashes and then when i turn it on again, the Chromecast loads. I don't know if it's my tv, the remote, or the Chromecast causing the problems but something isn't communicating correctly and it makes watching tv stressful instead of relaxing.

Hi Garbagepizza,

Thanks for reaching out and I’m sorry for the trouble. You may need to set the remote buttons just like the previous one. Check this link to know how. Also, moving to a different HDMI port and rebooting the TV helps. If possible, try another TV to isolate it.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy
