Chromecast not working after moving

ChrFar

I just moved and also changed my internet provider. But now my chromecast doesn’t work anymore. The TV and the chromecast is the same, just the Wi-Fi and location is not.

it looks like my tv does recognize the chromecast and I can also find it on my phone and the google home app, but the tv screen still says “no signal” and is just black.

I’ve tried everything that is suggested in all of the other blogs here and all over the internet, nothing is working…

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

@ChrFar, thanks for all the details and for being a step ahead of us.

@Mans28, have you tried any steps from your end? We’d like to get input from you, similar to what ChrFar shared.

A few questions for both of you:

  1. What Chromecast device do you have connected to your TV?
  2. What is the make and model of your TV?
  3. Who is your internet service provider, and what is the make and model of your router?

You can restart your TV by unplugging it from the power. Switch to different HDMI ports until the Chromecast screen is on the display. Once it’s up, follow the instructions on this link: Set up your Chromecast device (3rd gen or older), you can toggle between Android or iPhone & iPad, depending on the setup device that you have. Or follow this: Set up Chromecast with Google TV and Voice Remote.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Kimy
