Chromecast remote back button not working on YouTubeTV app

All remote buttons work except the BACK button when YouTube TV is the active app. The BACK button works otherwise. It's not the remote; it's something in the Chromecast device. The same is happening when I use my Sony remote where all buttons work except for the back button when YouTube TV is the active app. I reset Chromecast and the BACK buttons (Chromecast and Sony remotes) work on YouTube TV for a day or two only.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. This may be isolated to the YouTube TV app only, especially if the button works on other apps. You can troubleshoot the YouTube TV app by clearing it completely (cache and data) or deleting and then reinstalling it. You can also try a factory reset for a full clean-up, then set it up from scratch. Let us know how it goes.

I get the same issue. I have to do the reset, which works. This issue seems to happen after we've had a show paused for a while.

Thanks for posting. You mention that you reset (reboot) it in order for it to work. Have you tried to troubleshoot the YouTube TV app using the steps above? Or perform a full clean-up by doing a factory reset on your Chromecast with Google TV?
