Dear community,
I used to have a working Chromecast on an LG TV. I bought a Chromecast remote earlier this week, but when setting it up, it doesn't connect or pair with the Chromecast. I have done a factory reset of the Chromecast, and also multiple different resets of the remote (removing the batteries, waiting 5 mins, putting them back in, holding the home button, holding the back + home button, waiting for lights to flash, removing the battery closest to the volume button, etc.) None of it allows you to connect with the Chromecast or TV. I'm getting a bit desperate and disappointed at the same time that a brand-new product doesn't work...
Could someone help me out? Below are the specs of the different products I have.
Many thanks upfront for the help!
- TV: LG 49UH610V (bought in March 2017)
- Chromecast: Google Chromecast Ultra, MPN NC2-6A5-D, EAN 0811571018314 (bought in May 2020)
- Chromecast remote: Google Chromecast voice control, serial number 36071HFAK9QKNA (bought this week)

Hi Dusse,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. You mentioned that you’re using a Chromecast Ultra and confirmed it with the model number: NC2-6A5-D. Although you can purchase a Chromecast Voice Remote separately, it can only be used for Chromecast with Google TV (4K and HD) models. It can’t be paired with Chromecast Ultra and older versions. I hope this gives light to the situation. Let us know if you have other questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Kimy
