Chromecast remote

A battery leaked into my chromecast remote and now I can't access my GoogleTV (I have the HD model). How do I fix this? Like I would with water? I'm not even sure if it just reset the remote and now I need to pair it, or if it's just broken. I would very much appreciate any advice.

Unfortunately, it is most likely damaged beyond repair and you will need to order a replacement from Google:

For now, if you have a compatible Android device you can control your Chromecast using the Virtual Remote:

Do NOT do a reset on your Chromecast.   The setup process requires you to have a working remote to finish.  You'll be stuck until you get the replacement.
