Hi,
One day my Chromecast (2nd gen) was unresponsive: it would boot up with the background picture displayed, but without the time in the bottom right, and it wouldn't be available on our phones.
I decided to perform a factory reset, but when it starts up it gets stuck on "Networking problem".
I've tried a different TV, I've tried reinstalling the Home app on my phone, resetting the router, resetting the Chromecast several times, nothing works.
The Chromecast displays a Wi-Fi SSID in the bottom right (for example, Chromecast2880), but the network doesn't seem to exist.
It looks like the factory reset doesn't actually finish, since the Chromecast never prompts me with the initial setup instruction. It almost looks like the Wi-Fi simply doesn't work.
I've made a video of me trying to reset it if it's needed (the Chromecast is set up in French): https://streamable.com/uweq1d
I don't know what else to try, any ideas?

Hello rogorz,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Community Forum. I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Chromecast 2nd Gen because it doesn’t set up. It must be frustrating that even after a factory reset, it still doesn’t connect to your WiFi. Don’t worry; it's a pleasure to help you.
I am grateful for your time and effort in completing these troubleshooting steps described in the post. So let’s explore more options:
If the trouble persists, please fill out this form. One of our representatives will contact you via email to provide further assistance. Once you're done, let me know.
Best regards,

Hello,
I've tried a factory reset again, the problem persists.
And I cannot try your second option, since the Chromecast directly boots up to the error message. There isn't any way for me to change its configuration, so I literally can't do anything other than resetting it 😞
I have filled out the form as requested.
Thank you.
