Chromecast w Google TV (4K) interrupted setup

Hello. I recently purchased a Chromecast w Google TV (4K) device. During setup, my Android Google Home app crashed. I was able to complete the setup using the device (clever Google) and I'm able to cast to it from my Android phone, but Google Home doesn't see it and I'm unable to find a way to make it see it.

Is there a way (short of resetting the device, if that's possible) to make Google Home see it?

I may migrate the device to another TV (different brand), how do I get the remote to power on/off this different TV? Would a device reset (if possible) be required to do this as well, or is there an easier way? Would it be easier to migrate right away in order to cure the Google Home issue 'with one stone'?

Thank you in advance.

Try these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the Devices tab.
  3. Tap + Add.
  4. Tap New device.
  5. Follow the steps in the app.

If those steps don't work, you will unfortunately need to reset it and complete setup with the Google Home appYou don't need to reset to change input/power/volume control. You can change it in the settings on the device.

Thanks. I had already done a factory reset, migrated it to another TV and all is well.
