Chromecast with google TV no sound after Android 14 upgrade

After the upgrade, sound stopped from working. If I change HDMI mode on the TV and the HDMI/HDCP are renegociated, the sound works for a few seconds, then stops working again.

After the sound stopped working, no audio on any app, youtube, netflix, or the own google TV UI.

Before the upgrade all worked flawelessly.

BTW big shout out to google, if you are looking for a experienced embedded developer with experience in streamer devices ping me. I am very familiar with AML s905x devices.

Hey all,

Thank you for flagging this issue. If you could leave a reply to this message with the following information, it would be greatly appreciated.

What does your setup for the TV and Chromecast with Google TV look like? Do you have any soundbar/AVR or optical cable connected? Please include the brand and model info.

Please confirm that the Chromecast with Google TV device's volume is not low.

  • Navigate to Settings > Remotes & Accessories > Set up remote buttons > Volume control > Chromecast
  • Increase the volume on your Chromecast Voice Remote
