So after waiting months you finally released a so called update to fix android 14 issues. Yet it has been next to useless it has not in anyway fixed to Wi-Fi issue we reported all those months back infact to me it feels like it’s worse. It continuously drops connection this happens throughout the day and to be honest I feel like you just ignoring this ongoing issues.

now before you start saying have I reset router etc etc yes I have done all the steps you no doubt will bleed on about. In fact o have only just changed broadband supplier so setup has been re done again and it’s exactly the same.

when are you going to fix this hideous muck uo of android 14 once and for all for chromecast google tv custimers aa this is more than unacceptable and it’s been many months.

the fact that the kernel name is 5.15.153 android 14 maybe dirty. Is still showing is a clear sign you know it’s not been tested fully and fixes tested.

do we all need to start contacting social media and online publications like Google 9-5 to make it known that this so called update fix is no more than a scam by Google .

when is there going to be another update fix as surely you should know by know why is causing Wi-Fi to disconnect

Hi @nfuller,

Thanks for reaching out to the community forum. I'm sorry to hear your Chromecast with Google TV disconnects from your Wi-Fi after the recent update for Android 14. I understand this may be concerning, especially since you've already tried multiple troubleshooting steps with no success. I appreciate the detailed information you shared and your efforts in troubleshooting. No worries, I'd be more than glad to assist you.

Let's try the next steps:

  • On your device, please go to your Wi-Fi settings and select the option to "forget" your Wi-Fi network. After you have done this, reconnect to the network and see if the issue is resolved.
  • If your router is a dual-band router, it can broadcast on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. Please try connecting to either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network to see if the problem persists on one over the other.

Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps.

Chers,
Jonathan

It's been two weeks since I posted mine and yet here you are.

Same here tried all those solutions, even used my phone as WIFIAP, so i know it is not related to My WIFI /Router/Provider.   CC has been reset same issue.   Same issue with another CC in another HOUSE! (my parents)   ALL was working fine untill Update! PLEASE Provide a rollback!

Hi all,

Thanks for your responses. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing Wi-Fi issues with your Chromecast with Google TV after the recent update. I appreciate that you've tried the previous suggestions shared.

As you've already tried multiple troubleshooting steps with no positive result, I encourage you to submit feedback directly from the Google Home app, if you haven't already. You must include the exact keyword phrase "Dropping connection after Android 14 update release" in your feedback. This will help our team identify and investigate the issue more effectively.

Please keep me updated.

Cheers,
Jonathan
