I believe my chromecast is 1st gen. I don’t think that matters much though, because the issue is connecting to a WiFi that requires you to log in from a page. Like the one at my hotel with a guest accessible WiFi. I’d appreciate any help. I’ve successfully setup up and linked the device to my phone but I can’t get the chromecast to login to the network even though it’s connected to the WiFi.

Chromecast don't support connection to the networks that require webpage login.
Your best bet in this scenario is to use a mobile WiFi router.
Also, you have to set the Chromecast to forget the previously connected network and set it up for the new one.

Hi @Fastkat03 yeah, the CC devices require secure personal WiFi connections for set up and proper operations. They are incapable of using captive portals, which is what hotels use. A travel router is the best option if you intend to use the device in this way.
