Customizable Button Google Home Issue

For my issue:

Customizable Button was set to Google Home, but I noticed if I updated my "Favorites" within Google Home app that it wasn't coming across correctly to the Google TV Streamer. 

I restarted the Google TV Streamer; still no change. I changed the Customizable button from "Google Home" to "Input" then tried to go back to "Google Home" and it will not let me go back. 

I can go to Settings>Remote & Accessories > Set up remote buttons > Customizable Button, and then I can toggle either "Favorite App" OR "Device Input", and either of those work just fine. If I select "Google Home" then it returns me to the previous "Set up remote buttons" page without applying the change. It retains the previous setting, whether it be an app or input. 

I have restarted the device, no change. 

I have forgotten the remote and re-added, no change. 

Issue started for me at approximately 2030 PST on Dec 8th. Will update if I find a fix.

The Google Streamer team is aware as some other Community members have been reporting similar. They are currently looking into these reports. 

Can you let us know if you have any updates available for your Google Streamer?

I have the exact same issue. No updates are available. I factory reset the device twice. First time Google home didn’t even show as a choice for the button in settings. The second time the Google home choice was available but still didn’t stick. It just exits settings with no change to that choice.

I appreciate that you have taken action by performing the troubleshooting steps above, so let’s explore more information. 

• Remove the voice remote batteries for at least 10 seconds and verify that the LED lights are turning on. If not, let me know. 
• Unplug the USB-C connection from the streaming device to disconnect it from the power source. Leave the device unplugged for one minute, then plug it back in.
• Reset the voice remote. For detailed steps, refer to How to factory reset your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer. 

Please try to follow these instructions and let me know how it goes.

The fix has started automatically rolling out but may take some time to reach all customers. If you're still encountering this issue after next week, please respond to this comment to let us know.
