Would it be possible to use Google TV app as temporary remote somehow, if the Chromecast is only connected via Ethernet and not Wi-Fi? Then re-pair the Chromecast remote with the Google TV app?

Or am I forced to do factory reset?

Hey there Sanne,

Yes, you are able to use the Google Home app to control the Chromecast with Google TV using the Virtual Remote. As long as the Chromecast has already been set up and your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, that should work. However, if you would like, you can also do a factory reset.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
