Dolby Atmos audio through Bluetooth

Hi Guys,

I've got a Chromecast with Google TV 4k, and I want to connect it to my soundbar which supports Dolby Atmos (Samsung HQ Q990D). My question is: do I need direct HDMI connection between the soundbar and the google chromecast device (so should I connect directly the chromecast 4k to my soundbar), or is it enough to connect it though bluetooth for Dolby Atmos audio?

Thank you for your answer!

Regards, Attila

Hi Atko,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I appreciate your contribution to our community with your question about connecting your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) directly to your Samsung soundbar (model HQQ99OD) or if connecting it via Bluetooth is sufficient for Dolby Atmos audio.

Based on the available settings capabilities for the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) voice control, I discovered that in order to receive Dolby Atmos audio, you must connect it directly to your Samsung (model HQQ99OD) soundbar. For further details, see the following article: Requirements for Chromecast and Google TV streamers

Please let us know if you have any further queries.
