Feature Suggestion: Bundled YouTube TV Basic on Chromecast Devices

So I was talking with Gemini and asked it to help draft this for me.

Dear Google Team,
I would like to proposes a new feature for Chromecast devices. This feature could significantly benefit both Google and its users: Integrating basic YouTube TV interface, system, package into the Chromecast device (e.g., Chromecast with Google TV).
Current Situation:
Chromecast devices are excellent streaming solutions, but require users to subscribe to various streaming services to access content. This can create a fragmented experience and may deter some users, particularly those unfamiliar with streaming or who prefer an all-in-one entertainment solution. Additionally, some users might find the cost of both a Chromecast and a separate YouTube TV subscription prohibitive. (That would be me)
Proposed Solution:
Integrated within the Chromecast interface; basic YouTube TV package (with a limited channel selection) with each new Chromecast device purchased. This bundle could include:
  • Limited Channel Selection: A core set of popular broadcast and cable channels, appealing to a broad audience.
  • Free YouTube TV basic with commercials of course, but not as many as YouTube.com
  • Seamless Integration: Bake in the basic YouTube TV experience easily by integrating it into the Chromecast user interface.
Benefits of this Approach:
  • Increase Chromecast Adoption: Offering a bundled live TV option would increase the value proposition of Chromecast devices, driving more sales and user adoption.
  • Boost YouTube TV Subscribers: Expose more users to the YouTube TV platform, potentially converting basic users into paying subscribers.
  • Simplified User Experience: Users would have access to live TV right out of the box, reducing the need to navigate separate subscriptions and apps.
  • Competitive Advantage: This approach could give Google a competitive edge in the crowded streaming device market by offering more immediate value to new customers.
  • Potential for Upselling: The basic YouTube TV package could act as a gateway, encouraging users to upgrade to a full subscription for a wider selection of channels.
Integrating basic YouTube TV it into the Chromecast user interface is a strategic move that could enhance Google's streaming ecosystem and provide users with a more compelling and streamlined entertainment experience.

You could keep it going and add in..... but I'll save that idea for later.
