The remote works fine in all regards EXCEPT when I hold down the microphone button and talk to it, the screen UI hears nothing. Assistant pops up. The colored bars wiggle. The LED on the remote glows. But it hears nothing.
This was working fairly recently, but I rarely use if--no matter how many times it suggests I do so more often--so I can't say how recently I last saw this working. I restarted the GTVS. I pulled batteries from the remote for about a minute. Everything else works. Even the Find my remote beacon. It acts like it's trying to listen. The GTVS hears nothing.
Yes, I'm holding down the button the whole time I'm speaking. Yes, I've tried waiting for a second or two after pressing the button before speaking. When I let up on the button, it says to hold it down. GTVS has all system updates as of earlier this week. Remote Firmware reports "1.02". I have no clue if this is current or not. Remote battery reports 70%.
Another data point: using the voice assistant from the Google TV App "remote" from my iPad works fine.
Another data point: I did a reset of the remote. Still No Joy.
What next?!?
