From the beginning since I had my Google TV Streamer, which is about 3 months now, I set it up to use my Google Photos album as a screensaver. It is a shared album with my wife, and it contained 113 photos.
Now after a while, we both added new photos to this album (now it contains 223 photos), but we noticed that we did not see it updating on the TV (same applies to our Nest Hub, which uses the same album, but also does not update).
I already tried:
- turning off curated photos, enabling live albums only
- device reboots
- deselecting the album, and reselecting it
Weird thing is when I deselect the album, go out of the menus and go back to the home screen, and get back into the screensaver settings to re-select the same album, it has the correct number of photos (223).
So I select it, start the screensaver and notice that there are no new photos in there. When checking the settings, suddenly the selected album only has 113 photos again, the original album size when I set up the screensaver for the first time.
Can someone tell me what is going on here? This sounds like an obvious bug, which is driving me crazy.
How do I fix this?

Hi @CluelessBanana,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Google TV Streamer isn't updating your Google Photos album in screensaver mode and is showing only 113 out of 223 photos. It's certainly frustrating when new content isn't appearing as expected, and I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to solve the problem. I'm happy to assist you.

Hi Derick,
Thanks for your reply! I created a new album to see if that is working, and it is working.
And I have an idea why. The album that I selected originally was a shared album with my wife, and all the missing photos were the photos that she selected and added to the album.
When creating a new album with al the photos from the original album, I become "owner" of the photos and the album isn't shared.
So any photos added to a shared album which is used as a screensaver on Nest / Google TV devices by a user that is not the account that is used on the Nest / Google TV device, will not be shown.
Can this be filed as a bug to the engineering team?
Thanks!
