Hi, I did not turn on my Google TV Streamer for a while and when I did it notified me that there's an update. I went to do it and it started installing. After some time I checked and it's on Step 1 of 2 around 60% and won't move - ever. Did some troubleshooting things, like pause/resume. Restart. Turn off/on. Plug out of power, plug in. Factory reset/setup from start. Nothing can fix it. Basically all the possible things were done to try and update it and it just doesn't move from 60%. I would like to mention that I have 4 Chromecast 4K devices, 2 Nvidia Shields, al my phones were Android phones from very start of Android phones, I am IT engineer for the last 27 years, excellent in troubleshooting, currently being senior manager, so with this, please do not start with basic troubleshooting - restart your router and such. I did everything that any unskilled and skilled person can do, excluding Google Development, that I can't.
I could not find any other posts with this issue anywhere, am I the only one?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, Thanks for the detailed context. Based on everything you’ve already tried, this strongly points to a stalled or corrupted firmware update, not a local setup or network issue. If the update remains stuck at 60% even after a factory reset, the device is likely unable to complete the OTA package. You’re almost certainly not the only one, but these cases are usually underreported. At this point, the only realistic options are: Submit feedback/logs directly through Google TV support so the issue can be escalated Contact Google support to check for a manual re-flash or replacement if the device is under warranty This isn’t something normal troubleshooting can resolve. Hopefully Google can acknowledge and address it at the firmware level.

Thanks for the quick and fair answer. I thought the same. It was long time ago since I played with Android updates through sideload, ADB and such, but if I take the rust off it might work. Device isn't under warranty as I think I bought the Serial No: 000001 haha. Inwill see with Google support, what else.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I had the same thing happen to me. This was about a month ago. After numerous factory resets. I gave ip and packed it up. I took it and connected to a mobile Hotspot (my phone), and somehow managed to bypass the Software Update and got it working. Everything works as it should, except it won't allow me to enable Developer Options. I downloaded the Developer Tools App and it wouldn't enable Developer Options either. I'm specifically trying to get to Install Unknown Sources. Any Ideas?
