Google TV Streamer doesn't remember Google Photo album settings

I have owned every iteration of Chromecast and Google TV, and have been using the Ambient mode for as long as it existed.  I would select albums from my Google Photos, and have the Ambient Mode display those, instead of the stock photos.

However, with my new Google TV Streamer, it will play the photos from the selected album after configuration, but the next time I turn the device on, it will revert to only displaying stock photos.  When I check the settings, the Google Photo option is no longer selected, and if I re-enable it, I would have to re-select all the albums because the device has forgotten my choices.

I have searched for an answer, but most of the people can't even get the photos to show up the first time, which is different from having the photos show up right after configuration, but all gone when the device is switched on again.

Please help.  Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the device might not be saving the Ambient Mode configuration after restarting. Sometimes this happens when the Google Photos permission or account sync isn’t fully refreshed. You could try removing and re-adding the Google account on the device or clearing the Google Home app cache to see if the album settings stay saved. Issues like this often happen with connected platforms where configuration or account data doesn’t sync properly. I’ve seen similar troubleshooting steps explained in some online registration platform guides, which show how different digital systems manage account settings and device preferences.
