With the new firmware that was recently released for the Google TV Streamer, some audio issues were finally resolved, however, I noticed that there are still some little issues with DTS passthrough that I wanted to report:
These are the DTS codecs I tested, where the ones in RED are the ones that still don't work as expected when using the Auto option:
As you can see, DTS-ES 6.1 is not passing through at all and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X are not passing through the DTS Core but they are getting decoded to multichannel PCM. It's important to clarify that the Streamer doesn't support passthrough of the HD stream o DTS-HD.
However, the ones affected are those with 7.1 channels because the ones with 5.1 channels are passing through the DTS Core with no issues.
I observe this situation with Emby and Jellyfin where I already contacted the developers of those apps and they have confirmed that their apps are sending the raw codec correctly but the Streamer is failing to passthrough the correct codec or audio stream, I am not sure about other apps such as Plex or Kodi.
I already reported this through the form but I wanted for this to have visibility for other users as well.
