I posted this issue a couple of weeks back.
Just had a update on my remote control, wondering if i could try and fix this.
I've tried doing a factory reset and still no answer with it working, ive tried removing batteries and putting them back in and everything, still no luck.
All the other buttons work fine. Just the assistant button that isn't.

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. A patch fix was supposed to have fixed this. Let’s do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset on the main Chromecast device. I would suggest that you factory reset the remote too, but since you’ve already tried it, we can skip it. Let us know how it goes.

Just done it, still no luck.
Im beginning to think it might he something hardware related, maybe a loose wire to the button or something.
Might see if i can get myself a spare.
