Something went wrong

I can’t add my TV in Remotes and Accessories. I keep getting an error that Something went wrong.

The bigger issue that I have is that when I want to turn off the Chromecast and TV with the Chromecast remote the only thing that turns off is the Chromecast. 

The weird thing is that I can turn on the TV and adjust the volume ok with the Chromecast remote. 

I have performed a system update and reset the Chromecast to factory defaults but this has not helped. 

@Kimy it would be appreciated if you could help me resolve this issue.

I am having a similar issue. I also get the `Something went wrong` message when trying to set up the remote for the TV. With mine, It has not allowed me to configure anything with regards to the remote for the TV, yet I can actually turn the TV on and off using the remote, as well as with the YouTube and Netflix buttons. However, I cannot adjust the volume.

I have factor reset it twice, I have run all the updates on both the Google TV 4K and on the remote, but no difference, I have also cleared the cache in the `Android TV Infrared Service`. I have also unpaired the remote and repaired it. 

My Build is STTE.230915.005.S1

Hi folks,

 

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. I suggest you do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset on the main Chromecast device, then rebooting the TV. Some users managed to reset their TVs to factory settings. Also, try to factory reset the remote. Proceed with the setup and let us know how it goes.
