Google nest home wont play video to chromecast

Okay so I've had a google nest home for awhile now. I bought a 4k chromecast with google tv today and setup went well. Everything works until I asked nest to play a movie on my chromecast. It says okay playing blah blah on disney+ then about 10 seconds goes by and it says sorry I understand. Nothing ever happens on my tv. It worked once for me but hasn't worked again. From the remote it works flawlessly. Before asking all the basic troubleshooting questions. Yes to all lol. I updated, on the same network, same email, allowing personal results, powered it off and on, relinked it, and made sure apps were linked in home. Please help! I just want to tell it to turn on a movie for my daughter when I'm washing dishes or cleaning and can't get to the remote! Lol

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. The bug is with the Google Assistant; devices such as Chromecast with Google TV, Nest speakers and displays, etc. that have it built-in were affected. It was recognized in the Google Assistant Help Community and has been trending on this thread: Google home mini no longer capable of changing TV channels, used to work just fine.

 

Different teams (Chromecast, Nest speakers and displays, etc.) have already reached out to the Google Assistant team, and a bug ticket has already been created. They are currently investigating this. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but we’ll wait for their update on this and hopefully get it resolved as soon as possible.

 

Outside of the Google Assistant issue, your devices should be fine with their functions. Kindly stay tuned for updates related to the bug.

People are already reporting that the issue has been resolved. The work ticket for the bug is still not closed, which means it’s still being worked on or hasn't reached its completion. I just want to check how it is on your end. If you are experiencing it up and down, I suggest you put in the details as you send feedback. If yours is already working, I suggest you observe and send feedback if something comes up.
