I have several Chromecast devices and one google streamer. I purchased an entire TV series through Google (so it's in my library) & despite having "autoplay" selected, the show will not continuously play. None of the TV shows in our library will autoplay. I followed all of the troubleshooting for this in Google Help and even tried contacting Google help (ended up being referred here) without resolution. I have the streamer ethernet connected, all apps & device are updated, cleared the cache, and restarted devices. It will autoplay if I'm using my tablet or phone (connected to the same internet) and I tried switching the streamer to "wifi" instead of ethernet, but it still won't autoplay. At the end of each episode, it takes me back to the main display screen to select something to watch. If I have to cast from my phone to my tv to autoplay the TV show, it defeats the purpose of buying a google TV streamer or chromecast! I could have continued casting using my smart TV. At this point, I'm rather frustrated with Google.

If you have voice commands, you should be able to open "Google TV" it will open a different app than what is used on the home screen. Go to settings to turn on auto play, go to your episodes in the app, select one. It should show you a settings gear in the episode now. Where you can confirm binge watch is on. It will auto play!

I tried your suggestion and you are correct, It opens the old "Google Play Movies & TV" app (which did have auto-play turned on) and watching the show using that app does allow it to start the next episode. The only way to find that app is using voice search or specifically searching the app name under "Apps" in the main area - the app doesn't show up when you simply bring up "my apps".
I just find it extremely odd/confusing that you can't watch purchased through google TV show episodes automatically through the Google TV Streamer or Google Chromecast's main system. They have an area in settings to turn on/off "auto-play"; however, it doesn't appear to work. You'd think they would have fixed this issue quite a while ago.
Thanks for the work around! At least now I have a way to watch my purchased series without going to the library and selecting the next episode at the end of each one.
