Google tv streamer won't connect to wifi

Google tv streamer won't hold a wifi connection. It briefly connects to my wifi and then drops. It is not working 99% of the time. It was purchased yesterday (25th sept) and is the only product with this issue. All of my other household devices and google devices are maintaining wifi connection. I have restored the Google tv streamer multiple times and have updated it. I have also restarted my router multiple times. 

Anyone else with this issue?

This is the first we have heard of such an issue. Thank you for doing some of the troubleshooting steps to see if that would solve the issue. A few questions I have are what Wifi system are you using? Could there be any setting on your Wifi for new devices that limits it from being connected to the Wifi until you have added it to a specific group? 

Another test that could be done is plugging the Google TV Streamer directly into your Wi-Fi router with the Ethernet port on the back of the device. That would help us know if the internal modem is also working properly.

I too am having frustrating spotty Wi-Fi issues, with my family constantly pinging me "the TV isn't working", and we've only had it a few days. Our Google TV Onn Pro device never had any Wi-Fi connectivity issues. I might have to hard wire until Google gets their act together. I'm using a pair of tp-link deco be63 mesh routers, connected via wired back haul, in case that helps Google reproduce the setup...
