So about a month ago, a green dot appeared in the top-right of my screen while I was watching TV shows on it. At first I thought it was the same green dot that appears on my Pixel 6 Pro whenever the microphone is being used, so I began to troubleshoot it as if that was the issue and slowly expanded my search. Here is all that I tried with the chromecast and if it removed the green dot:
Now you may be asking yourself "if he found the solution, why is he making a new post?"
My response: Guess whose back? And no, it's not shady. Is there a permeant fix for this? I don't want to watch Revenge of The Dot every month.
Update: I started toggling off different permissions as a whole, when I turn off Microphone Access for all apps using the all or nothing toggle switch, the dot goes away. However, individually turning off access to all the apps that I am allowed to turn off does not. This narrows the search to 3 locked down apps: System UI, Shell, and System. This makes it seem like it is a software issue that would be fixed with an update.

We don't have Chromecast, but is this post of any use?

Hi, I am also now having this problem. There is nothing obviously a software bug that Google needs to fix. I am really annoyed by this green dot in the upper right of the screen
