Hisense U75N - Google TV

hi I bought a high sense use 75 and a few months ago ever since buying it it randomly resets and reloads the Google interface. The Internet connection is fine. The power supplies fine I’ve tried removing other items such as the Google homepage and making it just have the need of apps it works most of the time but definitely during YouTube and stuff. It seems to reset and then it starts back up like it’s normal. I have found Reddit link and stuff where this is similar however, it still hasn’t been resolved in any update. This seems crazy that the most basic function of this TV doesn’t work. Everything else is perfect. The pictures is great when it’s working it’s fantastic but there’s some type of software or hardware issue related to the Google product as it doesn’t happen when it’s on any HDMI port.

Hello @paulwall7,

Thank you for posting on the community. I understand the issue with your new Hisense U75N Google TV experiencing random resets and reloads of the Google interface. It is very helpful that you have already isolated the problem: it only happens when you are using the built-in Google TV operating system and its native apps, but not when you are using an HDMI input.

Since you have already tried removing unnecessary items and confirmed your internet/power is stable, let's proceed with the most effective troubleshooting steps for resolving internal software conflicts and stability issues on Google TV.

Step 1: Manually Clear Cache and Data for problematic apps

Since you mentioned YouTube specifically causes resets, we should target that app first, as corrupted app data can overload the system and trigger a reboot.

  • From the Google TV Home screen, go to Settings (gear icon).
  • Select Apps.
  • Select See all apps.
  • Find and select YouTube.
  • Select Clear cache, then select OK.
  • Select Clear data (or Clear storage), then select OK. (This will sign you out of YouTube).
  • Repeat this process for any other native apps where you notice the TV tends to reset.

Step 2: Check for and apply system updates

While you mentioned it hasn't been resolved in an update yet, it is crucial to ensure you are on the very latest version, as manufacturers frequently release stability patches.

  • From the Google TV Home screen, go to Settings (gear icon).
  • Select System.
  • Select About.
  • Select System update and check for an update. Install any available updates.

Step 3: Factory Data Reset (As a Final Software Attempt)

A factory reset completely wipes the internal memory and returns the Google TV software to its original, clean state. This is the ultimate step to rule out any persistent software bugs, bad configuration, or data corruption that clearing app data alone can't fix.

  • From the Google TV Home screen, go to Settings (gear icon).
  • Select System.
  • Select About.
  • Select Reset.
  • Select Factory data reset and confirm.

Note: This will erase all your apps, settings, and account sign-ins. You will need to set up the TV and sign in to your Google Account and all your streaming apps again.

Please let me know the results of clearing the cache and data for YouTube, and if you proceed with the Factory Data Reset.

Regards,

Kevin
