Home button on remote switch on my Yamaha Receiver

Google Streamer 4K home button switching on my Yamaha receiver when I prefer TV volume. How to fix this?

I need CEC because I control the TVs volume using the Google Streamer 4K  remote.

This is my setup. LGTV connected to Yamaha Receiver (ARC). Google Streamer 4K connected to Yamaha receiver HDMI1,

  • When did this inconvenience start?
  • Could you please double-check if your LG TV’s HDMI-CEC (Simplink) is turned on? (For more information, consult the LG TV manual or LG customer support.)
  • Is your LG TV's operating system updated?
  • Is your Yamaha Receiver's operating system updated?
  • What is the current firmware version of your Google TV Streamer (4K) device? You can find this by following the steps in this Google Nest Help Center article: Find your device’s firmware version.

In the meantime, here are a few recommendations to consider:

First, verify that the three devices—the LG TV, Yamaha Receiver, and Google TV Streamer (4K)—are correctly configured.

For the Google TV Streamer (4K), I'm sharing the steps to verify the settings are correctly configured:

  1. Turn on your Google TV Streamer (4K).
  2. At the top right of the TV screen, select your profile, then tap Settings.
  3. Select Remotes & Accessories from the settings menu.
  4. Under the Google TV Streamer (4K) remote setup, select Set up remote buttons or Control volume.
  5. Choose Add a device.
  6. Select TV or your LG TV's name.
