I can cast Qobuz and Spotify from my phone but not from my computer

Hi

 

Until recently, I could perfectly cast from Qobuz and Spotify from the apps on my computer desktop (Windows 10) to my Chromecast Audio. My phone would also cast (iPhone 11 Pro). Absolutely no problems and had it set up in Google Home perfectly fine. 

But at some point a week or two ago, no changes occurred  as far as I know and overnight, the above music apps on my computer no longer see the Chromecast Audio, but my phone apps still do. I can easily cast from my phone and it works fine. But this is not convenient to me for a number of reasons that aren't relevant here. 

 

I have no idea what has happened and I have tried factory resetting, setting up things all again, uninstalling the desktop music apps, reconnecting and......nothing. The music apps still don't "see" the CCA at all and I can no longer cast from my desktop as I could before. 

 

Has anyone got any idea what has happened or why this is happening? And if so, how do I fix this?

Hey there johnnyboy114,

I'm sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know how difficult it can be to troubleshoot casting issues when it seems like nothing has changed. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • Are you able to cast to the Chromecast Audio from Google Chrome?
  • What version of the Google Home app are you using?
  • What version of Google Chrome are you using?
  • Are you connected to the same network band? Either 2.4GHz or 5GHz
