Impossible to add kid account on Chromecast

I am experiencing similar issue than this person.

I am not able to add a Kid account on my Chromecast.

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are not able to find the Kids profile on the Chromecast with Google TV. Don't worry, I'm here to help.

For your concern, please try the below steps:

Set up a kids profile

1. From the Google TV home screen, go to your profile picture or initial.
2. Under "Choose an account," select Add account. Add a kid.
3. Select an option:
   • If your child has a Google Account or kids profile in your family group: Select the child you want to set up.
   • If you haven’t set up a child in your family group: Select Add a kid and follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Choose the apps you want to include in the kid's home screen.
5. To set up parental controls, follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi, Thanks for the answer.

When I chosse add an account I can't see the option "Add a child" or "Add a kid" it brings me directly to the QR code page to add an account.

• Go to settings and scroll down.
• Click on accounts & sign-in.
• Let me know what you can see on that page; the option to add a kid should appear.

When I go in Settings and Account and Profile (my Chromecast is in french, as I live in Quebec Canada so I am translating), I can see my account (green circle with my initials) and the + button with Add account but this brings me to the same page than before with the QR code with no option for kids.

Thank you for your response. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is the same.

Let's try to update the Chromecast to the latest version. If you have a Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer, the update doesn't appear in the Google Home app. You need to access your Chromecast updates from your TV. To do this on your Google TV home screen, choose All Settings > System > About > System update.

If on the menu it doesn't show any pending update, please factory reset the Chromecast; once finished, the setup, try to check if the option to add a kids profile appears on the menu.

Hello... Chromecast was already up to date. I did factory reset. Still not possible to add kid account.

I made a complaint using the form. What is going to happen ? It is really disappointing that it is not possible to limit the content for kids on Chromecast !! Many device does it. If not possible I will abandon google devices.
